Welcome to IDS!

I am thrilled to be back teaching IDS at CFSD16! Gifted education has been my focus and passion for the last 11 years. Prior to that, I taught in the traditional classroom, secular programs and did corporate training.

My own daughter, was part of my inspiration to pursue gifted education and I relish helping students learn how to think critically. It is very rewarding to see students develop their depth of knowledge and creative thinking skills.

A native, New Yorker, I intentionally moved to Tucson and I take full advantage of the desert, hiking with my daughter and four dogs. I love to be outside, hike, explore, read, learn and travel.

A fun fact about me:

I am a Maine Coon Cat, expert and showed them for 16 years in competition while living in New York. My Maine Coon Cats have appeared in books and commericals.

My volunteer time centers around animals and children. My Golden,"COSMO", is a certified Pet Partners therapy dog and volunteers with me for Gabriel's Angels.

My Mom, sisters and nieces all were/are teachers. My Mother was the inspiration for my lifelong learning, as she would say, "Before you go to bed tonight, think of one new thing you learned today!" I hope to pass that love of learning on to my students.
